This vintage Simplicity designer pattern is from 1950 and is for a hostess coat that ties at the side waist, a blouse and a pair of pants.  The hostess or house coat is much too pretty just to wear at home so it could easily be worn as a dress. It has 3/4 length sleeves and a rectangular pocket that is embroidered. The blouse also ties at the waist and has short cuffed sleeves. The trousers have a pocket on the right side.
